Affiliation Terms & Conditions
Partner your Church-Based Bible College or Seminary with MBTAC to train and equip believers for the work of Christian service and community transformation (Ephesians 4:12).
Official Affiliation Framework
These Terms and Conditions govern the cooperative partnership between MBTAC Theological College (the Moderator and Accreditator) and local Church-Based Bible Colleges / Seminaries (the Affiliates). By submitting the affiliation application and paying the annual accreditation fee, your institution commits to the following academic and doctrinal standards.
Affiliation Application Form
The person in charge of the church-based Bible college (i.e., Bible college principal) must complete the CBC Affiliation Application Form.
Letter of Awareness & Pastoral Endorsement
If the applicant is not the pastor of a church, a letter of awareness from the senior pastor must be submitted along with the pastor's signature as one of the witnesses. If living far from the applicant, such a person may send an email confirming that he knows about the college initiative and supports equipping the saints for the work of Christian service.
Minimum Student Enrollment Requirement
Please recruit at least ten (10) students to start a college. Contact the MBTAC head office for advice if you experience challenges in this regard.
Dedicated College Bank Account
Please have a bank account specifically for the college to deposit fees. Preferably, college fees must not mix with church monies (i.e., tithes and offerings) because running the Bible college is a project on its own requiring standalone administration.
Training Program Duration & Mark Submissions
Please ensure that once you start with the training program, which is 5-6 weeks per module, the overall results (marks) of your respective students must be submitted to MBTAC admin during or before the end of the sixth week (i.e., formative assessment assignments, fieldwork experience assignments, class participation, and summative assessment assignments / final exam).
Facilitator Appointment & Approval Policy
You can use facilitators (lecturers) you appoint but approved by MBTAC to help teach your students. Facilitators you recommend must complete the MBTAC Affiliate Facilitator Application & Approval Form and abide by the MBTAC Affiliate Facilitator Qualification, Appointment, and Approval Policy for training program credibility and quality assurance.
Blended Learning Approach
Since MBTAC uses a blended learning approach (i.e., contact classes and/or online) to teach, facilitators must be conversant with how social media and online platforms such as WhatsApp, Google Classroom, Zoom, and Google Meet work.
Facilitator Honorarium
Each time someone is requested to help teach your students, please cultivate the habit of giving them an honorarium. If you require assistance but are financially unable to appreciate your facilitator, please inform them before they begin teaching.
Safe Venue & Contact Classes
Please ensure that you have a safe and clean venue for contact classes where students within your proximity could meet for learning at times and days you agree on. Students who live far away can connect to the class via a social media platform, or the college can make special arrangements for their online classes.
Module Payment Policy & Strictly No Credit
a) MBTAC supplies modules (textbooks) to affiliated colleges at a cost of R300 per module per student. Colleges are permitted to determine their tuition or fees for sustainability and profit purposes. b) All module orders must be paid for in full before release or delivery. MBTAC does not provide modules on credit under any circumstances. No module shall be printed, released, or distributed without full payment. Outstanding balances must first be settled before any new orders can be processed. Strictly NO CREDIT is allowed.
Advance Module Ordering
Please encourage your students to pay for modules a month ahead to allow you ample time to order and receive the modules in time to avoid delays in starting the next module.
Postage & Courier Services (PAXI / Courier)
MBTAC uses PAXI (Pep) and Courier Services for postage to help colleges receive study material securely and in time. MBTAC shall bear postage costs where more than five (5) modules are ordered for registered students, excluding modules for facilitators.
Registration and Pricing of Modules
Interested applicants must contact MBTAC for further information on module (textbook) cost and how they can price modules in their respective church-based Bible colleges for profit and to cover admin and tuition costs. MBTAC only shares the module fees with the Bible Colleges.
Facilitator Module Discount
An extra module per order must be indicated in the Bible college order at half the cost of a module (50% discount). This is the module to be used by the facilitator. If the principal is teaching the course but needs a hard copy of the module, the same discounted amount will be charged.
College Campuses Across South Africa
MBTAC allows Bible colleges to establish campuses across the country. However, timely notification is essential to provide the necessary administrative advice on how to operate such campuses remotely.
Official Communication Protocol
Students of affiliated colleges are not allowed to directly communicate with MBTAC. Should a situation require communication with the academy, protocol must be followed: it must be done through the management (leadership) of the church-based Bible college in question.
Annual Affiliation Fee (R800.00)
An annual affiliation fee of R800.00 is required to register a church-based Bible college with MBTAC. However, in case this amount is not immediately available, arrangements can be made with MBTAC admin to register the college by submitting the completed application affiliation form and documents, paying the affiliation fee later from student registration proceeds.
Student Prospectus
The MBTAC Church-Based Bible College Student Prospectus shall be downloaded directly from the website.
College Name & Dedicated Email Address
Decide on a name for your Bible college and create an email address for correspondence with students (communications and submissions) and to liaise with MBTAC admin. You can name it after your church or choose an independent name (e.g., Shalom Bible College).
Student Registration Process & Student Numbers
The students' registration process and the creation of student numbers are explained in detail in the starter pack document provided by MBTAC.
Data Backup System Requirements
Church-based Bible College administration must maintain a robust backup system (USB, external hard drive, cloud storage, etc.) for all learner records and academic marks.
Annual Fire Impartation Conferences
Annual Impartation Fire Conferences with Pastor KS shall be organized each year in every province that has church-based Bible colleges implementing the MBTAC curriculum. Details shall be communicated to colleges at the appropriate time.
