About Us
Our Story, Vision & Mission, Statement of Faith, and prophetic foundation at Malatji Bible Training Academy.
Institutional Motto
Empowering Tomorrow Today!
“MBTAC scratches where it itches most in the body of Christ!”
Malatji Bible Training Academy (MBTAC) is a church-based, international, and interdenominational Bible and Ministry Training Academy committed to equipping believers, ministers, and Christian leaders with sound biblical knowledge, practical ministry skills, and a strong foundation for effective Christian service.
MBTAC exists to qualify the unqualified, strengthen those already serving, address the most pressing needs in the body of Christ, and empower the next generation of Christian leaders. We do not compete with churches; we serve churches by providing accessible, practical, and ministry-focused biblical education.
Our Story
Where we came from and why MBTAC exists
Prophetic Fulfilment
Malatji Bible Training Academy is the unfolding of a prophetic word the founder and director (K. Stephen Malatji) received from Mr. Neels Roelofse (African Christian Democratic Party) in 1995 at Polokwane, a city in Limpopo Province, Republic of South Africa.
MBTAC was established out of a vision to make quality Bible and ministry training more accessible to people who have a genuine calling to serve God but may not have access to traditional theological institutions. The Academy grew from a ministry conviction that the Church needs biblically grounded, practically equipped, and spiritually mature leaders who can serve effectively in their local churches and communities.
The Academy therefore provides church-based Bible and ministry training designed to connect biblical learning with practical Christian service. Its programs are developed to serve students from different Christian backgrounds and ministry contexts while maintaining a strong commitment to Scripture. From its South African foundation, MBTAC carries an international vision. Through its affiliate model, the Academy seeks to make its curriculum available to Bible colleges and ministry training institutions in different regions of the world.
Our story is ultimately a story of service — serving God, serving His Church, and preparing people to serve effectively.

Statement of Faith
What we believe and teach
Malatji Bible Training Academy is committed to the authority of the Holy Scriptures and to the historic Christian faith.
- The Authority of Scripture: The Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God and the authoritative foundation for Christian faith, doctrine, and life.
- The Triune God: There is one God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- Jesus Christ: Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully God and fully human. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, death for the sins of humanity, bodily resurrection, ascension, and promised return.
- Humanity and Need for Salvation: Humanity was made in God’s image but was separated from Him by sin and needs salvation.
- Salvation by Grace: Salvation is by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ. We believe in repentance, conversion, forgiveness of sins, and the transforming work of the Holy Spirit.
- The Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit indwells, sanctifies, empowers, and equips believers for Christian living, witness, and service.
- The Church: The Church is the Body of Christ and is called to worship God, proclaim the Gospel, make disciples, and serve humanity.
- Christian Ministry: Christian ministry is a divine calling and should be exercised with biblical integrity, spiritual maturity, humility, and servant leadership.
- Eternal Realities: The resurrection and eternal life are realities. We believe in the resurrection of the dead, the final judgment, and the eternal destiny of humanity.
- The Great Commission: The Great Commission is the responsibility of every believer and the Church: to proclaim the Gospel, make disciples, and advance the Kingdom of God.
